Dr. John C. Hoag has 27 years of experience in the development of information and telecommunication systems in the manufacturing, retail, distribution, government and education industries. Dr. Hoag has a unique background encompassing software engineering, human factors, and telecommunications as a consultant, system integrator, and educator. He has extensive experience in web based technologies, ecommerce, network infrastructure and real-time control systems. Dr. Hoag has provided consulting services in both private and public sectors and is tenured in the Scripps College of Communications at Ohio University, where he began his teaching career in 1998.
Dr. Hoag is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers as well as the IEEE Communications and Power & Energy Societies. He is currently empanelled on the Smart Grid standards activities for the federal government and provides training to state utility regulatory boards. He has presented in academic, industry, and government settings worldwide.
